The company founded in Malaysia, beginning as an agent for
Shipping Lines, Shipping Agents, and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers
(NVOCCs)
to handle the billing and collection of container incidental
charges.
This early role placed us at the heart of container logistics and gave us deep insights into the
inefficiencies
and bottlenecks of traditional trade processes.
Over time, CLA evolved from a billing and collection agent into a pioneering FinOps platform.
Through innovation and collaboration, we developed patented technology that positioned us as a
regional provider in LogTech solutions. Our mission has always been
clear:
to make container logistics faster, easier, and cheaper,
so businesses can boost in cash flow, slash in expenses, and enhance efficiency.
The platform had processed more than 2 million TEUs containers, marking a significant scale of operations. Through our solutions, logistics service providers have benefited from the elimination of more than USD 250 million in security payments for businesses, effectively unlocking much-needed working capital. We have also reduced container turnaround times by an average of 0.8 days, while creating measurable cost savings of about USD 25 per container.
CLA complies with international data privacy regulations, including ISO 27001:2022 and the PDPA. Oversight by a Data Protection Officer (DPO) ensures continued compliance and responsible data management across all operations.
Today, more than 8,000 connected agents representing over 200,000 importers and exporters, alongside over 130 shipping agents, including NVOCCs and freight forwarders. The platform continues to scale with 15,000 active online users, in addition to 175 hauliers and 37 container yards that are now part of the CLA network. With the launch of our System-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, we embedded industry best practices into our delivery, ensuring that businesses across the supply chain spend less time on manual processes and more time on creating value.
Looking ahead, CLA is driven by powerful global trends. The digitalisation of trade and
logistics is transforming industry practices, while cross-border digital payments and
assurance are redefining transaction speed and transparency. Heightened attention to risk
and
compliance measures such as KYC and credit control ensures trust in every transaction. At
the
same time, the push for supply chain resilience and cost reduction has become an industry
imperative, while ESG and sustainable trade are shaping future standards. In parallel,
intra-ASEAN trade growth continues to create new opportunities for regional integration.
From our origins in Malaysia nearly three decades ago to our expanding presence worldwide,
CLA's journey reflects a consistent vision: to deliver smarter, faster, and more sustainable
solutions for the container logistics industry — today and into the future.
